Halloween is quickly approaching so I decided to do some “Trick or Treat” nail art. I’ve had this idea in my head for a while so I was finally able to find time to execute it!
For the base colors, I used a few shades from Zoya’s new matte collection - Savita, Loredana, and Dovima - as well as China Glaze But of Corpse. All four of these colors are matte, but I decided to add a top coat over them!

SO happy I finally found some time today to do nail art! I started school again last week so that is currently taking up my time For fall I’m really loving plaid, and also mixing different types of patterns – I think its a really cool look! For these particular nails, the houndstooth print is neutral so it goes nicely but don’t be afraid to mix some funky colors together.
There are tons of different colors I used for this, but a couple standouts are Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace (white) and Floss Gloss Black Holy (black). There’s quite a few I used for the plaid design, the green/yellow is Marc Jacobs Lux, and the base is Deborah Lippmann Video Killed the Radio Star!
Hey everyone! Today I have a quick post about Oxygen’s new show all about nails called Nail’d It. Here’s a preview first look at a Quick Dry Challenge from the show!
A couple months back I actually got to check out the set for a taping of the show, and OH MY GOSH. So many nail polishes and fun stuff for them to use! The set was amazing, and we also previewed some nail art from the show. I can’t wait for the show to start to see all the talent, and also how cool is it to see nail artists on TV?!
This clip features host Adrienne Bailon, along with the 3 contestants, and also some recognizable judges such as Jan Arnold (CND) and Tom Bachik.
Nail’d It premieres on Oxygen at 9/8c on Tuesday, October 7!
I really loved the nails they did, its tough to pick a favorite but I really like the ones Classic did! Which ones were your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
Uh oh! Completely chopped off my nails today They were getting long, but these shorties are starting to grow on me! Black and white checkered print is a favorite of mine, but I didn’t want to do an all over print like the usual. I added in some random triangles and this is what I ended up with!
I started off with 2 coats of Floss Gloss’ white shade, Mrs. Tony Montana. After that dried a bit, I used another Floss Gloss favorite of mine – Black Holy. I outlined the grid with my paintbrush, and filled in the squares. I also covered up the line on the edge row with white.
This week is all about the wizards, so check out the calendar of events to learn all about them!
WEEK 1: THE WARRIORS September 14 – September 20
WEEK 2: THE WIZARDS September 21 – September 27
WEEK 3: THE SEERS September 28 – October 4
WEEK 4: THE ENCHANTERS October 5 – October 11
WEEK 5: THE SORCERERS October 12 – October 18
So the last season of Sons of Anarchy premiered last night! Its my favorite show! I actually only started watching it recently, but after getting caught up on Netflix I’m completely obsessed.
Who else watches the show!?
I love animal print nail art! It was one of the first nail art designs I ever did, and still is one of my favorites. There are so many ways to change it up, like I did here adding a psychedelic swirl background!
For my pointer finger, I started off with a white background and used a watercolor technique to dab on multiple colors. I painted various dots, and used black polish for the leopard print!
As for the rest of the fingers, I hand painted swirls and added some more abstract leopard spots. I’ve been loving these spots more as they’re so simple to do and look more “realistic”. No way you can mess them up
What I Used:
-Floss Gloss Wet
-Floss Gloss Lean
-Deborah Lippmann Tip Toe Through the Tulips
-Marc Jacobs Lux
My friend Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails curated this Pre-Fall 2014 Trendbox for nailbox.co and I’m in love! I received the box in the mail, and it was packed with 4 shades along with a matte top coat, which I used for today’s nail art.
For this design, I started off with varying base colors. I added a “V” shape in the center of the nail, and then added 2 more on each side, all in different colors! To finish it off I added Essie Matte About You top coat (one of my favorites!)
So here’s the lowdown on the box…for $35 you get $65 worth of product! The box is quarterly, and you have the option to just get the 1 box or subscribe for a year (which lowers the price).
What’s in the Box:
NCLA Santa Monica Shore Thing (valued $16)
LVX Cashmere ($16)
ORLY Hot Topics ($8.50)
Priti NYC Crysanthos ($15)
Essie Matte About You ($8.50)
Overall, I loved the colors Sarah chose! If you’re into subscription boxes and great quality polish, this is definitely one to add to your list.

For today’s nails I used Sally Hansen’s newest “Miracle Gel” product. Similar to CND Vinylux, it promises to act and perform like a gel minus using a light to cure it and time consuming removal. So far I can’t comment on how long it lasts as I just applied it but it says it can last up to 14 days!
To apply, you don’t use a base coat. I first used remover to wipe off any oil or dirt from my nails. Then apply the coat of color. I found it really simple to apply as it has a wide brush (same as in their Complete Salon Manicure line).
After applying 2 coats of Wet My Thistle I added varying stripes in Grey Matters (blue) and Electra-cute (orange).
The Miracle Gel line also has a top coat to complete the system. It reacts with natural light to “cure” it, which will help it last longer than regular polish. Will edit this post with an update on how long it lasted!
Overall, I really like how it applies and the colors are really gorgeous. I was drawn to these 3 polishes initially, but I’m looking forward to trying out some more nails with the other colors
Have you tried Miracle Gel yet?
