Funky French

It’s a very rare thing for me to be sporting a french manicure, but I kind of like it! While the typical pink and white french design is not very on trend, spicing it up with fun colors and accents is instantly trendy.

Sephora’s Formula X line is a favorite of mine, this is the first time I’ve used it for some nail art! The colors are gorgeous and the formula is wonderful — super impressed!

To get this design…

1) Start of with a base color (2 coats). Here I used Enigma.

2) Using a glitter polish, do a simple glitter gradient. Paint 1 light coat halfway up the nail, 2nd coat, 1/4 way, etc. to get the gradient. This holo periwinkle glitter is Freaky Like Freud.

3) Using a nail art brush, paint a french tip! Some people prefer to use tape or paper reinforcement tabs, but I find it easiest to just paint it on. This metallic purple is Pedal to the Metal.

4) Top coat!

Have you tried the Fomula X polishes, what do you think?
