Serape Nails

Serape Nails www.chelseasgetnailed.com

Hello! Today I am posting from Vancouver, Washington (right near Portland, Oregon) visiting some family…I had kept my last design on my nails for almost a week…new record? So I needed to do my nails asap πŸ™‚

I wanted to do something bright and colorful and I thought of those blankets I always see in Mexico (called Serape I believe). I googled some photos and BAM found some nail inspiration, hope you guys enjoy! These were a bit time consuming but I’m pleased with the result. I actually didn’t use as many colors as it appears because I blended a bunch together. If you have any specific color questions I’m happy to answer – this blue polish I’m holding is OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook.

It’s really nice! I’m just wondering how you did that, it must have taken a long time!

I love doing colorful stripes, but when they’re horizontal, they always end a little chunky, and even a layer or two of top coat won’t get that out. Sad πŸ™

I know how you feel! πŸ™ I thinned out the colors with a little bit of acetone and it helped! πŸ™‚
