These may possibly be one of my new favorites! I realized I haven’t done animal print nails in so long and I wanted to do something different from the “all-over” animal print. I looked up images of leopards and noticed that they actually have some spots that fade into the typical leopard print pattern, so I incorporated that to give it a more realistic look. Ok I know this design isn’t that realistic…but you get the point 🙂
I started off with a nude base – OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons. I love this polish…goes great with my skin tone and it is very opaque. I added in some colors using the watercolor technique over where I planned to add in the animal prints. The watercolor technique with nail polish looks great on its own or as a background for more complex designs! Its so simple; you paint dots of polish onto your nail and dilute them with a brush dipped in acetone or polish remover.
Using a nail art brush and acrylic paint, I added in the dots and print over the colors. Once it dries, add top coat!
I made a quick little tutorial for instagram yesterday (I love that I can embed this onto my site now! :)):
Enjoy! xoxo

I just love the slight opalescent effect of all the different polishes, gorgeous!
It looks absolutely gorgeous!
